We are pleased to announce that we will be changing our name to "THE ORIENT."

Since opening in March 2010, we have continued to operate under a license agreement for the trademark "Oriental Hotel." However, with the expiration of the license agreement with the trademark owner, we have decided to change the name.
Oriental Hotel Kobe was founded in 1870 (Meiji 3) and inherited the legacy of the former Oriental Hotel, beloved by many people including business people and celebrities. Amidst many voices expressing joy at its revival, the hotel opened in March 2010. From the preparations for its opening to the present day, we have been allowed to use the name Oriental Hotel, and we are extremely proud of the patronage we have received from people in Hyogo, Kobe, and throughout Japan and overseas. Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to all involved.
While the name will change, the history of this hotel loved by our customers remains unchanged.
Here in the former foreign settlement of Kobe, we will sincerely deliver the hospitality that we have cherished as Oriental Hotel Kobe, and create a hotel that exceeds the expectations of our loyal customers.

As mentioned above, the Oriental Hotel Kobe will be renamed THE THE ORIENT in February 2026. All of our staff will work hard to ensure that this new name remains beloved by the people of Hyogo and Kobe, as well as all of our supporters to date.
